About CIDEF Membership
Membership of CIDEF is classified into the following categories: Professional Members; Student Members and Associate Members.
The value of membership
The CIDEF accreditation for professional members (i.e. holding the Chartered Development Finance Analyst (CDFA) professional award) brings value both to members of the profession and to those who benefit from the work of professional development finance specialist. Viewed from the profession, accreditation testifies that there is a body of knowledge known as development finance, which accredited practitioners of development finance must be well versed in that knowledge at an advanced level, and must have applied it competently and ethically through academic qualification(s) and/or practice for several years.
Membership Categories

(A) Chartered Professional Membership |
To qualify for this category of membership, an applicant is required have a Master’s degree in Development Finance from an affiliated university or must complete a CIDEF accredited program consisting of three advanced certificate courses in finance for development. These members are awarded professional status and are internationally recognized, and are given a Chartered Status (Chartered Development Finance Analyst) with post nominal letters CDFA able to be displayed after their names.

(B) Associate Membership |
This membership is for individuals working in the development finance sector, interested in development finance activities, or pursuing a qualification in development finance at an affiliated university.

(C) Student Membership |
To qualify for this category of membership, an applicant is required to have enrolled in a Development Finance degree program at an affiliated university. This membership class is for people working towards CDFA Status.
